Trader

Trader was found on the 30th December 2010. He was about 6 months old. He was in a supermarket car park and was too weak to stand up for the food we gave him. He cowered as if he was going to be hit and he had a lot of cuts around his neck. He has overcome his fear of people now and is a loving little dog.  He enjoys his walks and gets excited when he gets into the fields, he is quite a livewire and might suit someone interested in agility'

Sarah

Sarah is a Bulgarian gonche/gonche cross which is a scent hound. She was found in a terrible state, covered in wounds, very thin and not strong enough to walk. Sarah was very trusting and has a lovely nature. She has now put on weight and is a friendly confident girl. She loves to play with other dogs but she is now quite a solid girl so if she is rehomed with another dog, it should be a larger dog who loves to play.

Harold
Harold is a lovely boy. He was left tied to our gate one night in September 2011. He was always very friendly although in the first couple of weeks that he was here, he would sometimes be a bit unsure as to whether people were going to hurt him. He now knows that he won’t be hurt and is eager for a fuss and attention.

Suma

In February 2011, a woman walked in to the vets in tears with a small dog and her puppy which was only about 2 weeks old. She found them on the streets and took them straight to the vets as the mum (Suma) had a massive tumor on her stomach which had become open and infected. The woman couldn't afford the operation so RSDR stepped in. Suma had her operation and is now a happy healthy girl.  She likes people but would be better in a home without small children or other pets.

Rowlf is a beautiful boy. He is well socialised and loves people.  Some of his litter mates are also waiting to be adopted.  You can see them on the main RSDR website.  They include Possum (male)

Want to be involved?

We are looking for people around the country who may be interested in helping carry out homechecks for potential new homes.  If you think you would like to be involved, please contact us with your experience and areas you can cover.  We are in the process of creating a checklist to help support this process.

At certain times, we may also need to have dogs in foster care; this could be that a previously adopted dog has to be returned into RSDR care.  We may also bring dogs over to the UK occasionally if we feel that it would improve their chances of adoption.  Sometimes people are reluctant to adopt a dog they have never seen 'in the flesh' - by having them in foster care, potential new owners can meet them before making that all-important decision.

If you think you could help, please get in touch with Mandy at rsdradoptuk@yahoo.co.uk
